Many of us experience stress from time to time. And no matter how hard we try to reduce it, there will always be some things that stress us out. But there are certain steps you can take to reduce your stress levels and make sure you’re getting the best skin possible! In this blog post, I will share 7 steps to rejuvenate your skin and reduce the effects of stress.

1. Laugh more & keep a positive attitude

Secret One: Laugh more & keep a positive attitude. Stress can have a negative effect on the skin because it causes the body to produce more cortisol. However, laughter lowers cortisol levels. It’s important to take time for yourself and do what makes you happy, even if it means watching funny YouTube videos or reading your favorite book! When you laugh and smile, you will feel better from both inside and out.

2. Drink plenty of water and eat healthy foods

Secret Two: Drink plenty of water and eat healthy foods. When stressed out, we tend to crave junk food that is high in sugar and salt with less nutritional value. If you stay hydrated, you’ll be less stressed and less likely to crave sweets, which can cause wrinkles and blemishes on your skin. Your skin will thank you.

3. Exercise regularly

Secret Three: Exercise regularly, even if you merely walk around the block or do some yoga in your living room. Did you know that exercising can reduce stress levels by 50%? Exercise transforms you — you are less anxious, you release endorphins that make you feel good on the inside. Exercise reduces stress and boosts self-esteem. And when you feel good about yourself, everything else seems less daunting. It also has other benefits like toning muscles and improving blood flow to skin cells!

4. Get enough sleep every night (7-9 hours)

Secret Four: Get enough sleep every night (7-9 hours). If you fail to get enough sleep, stress levels rise and your immune system weakens, both of which can cause your skin to be unhappy.

5. Learn to meditate for 10 minutes each day

Secret Five: Learn to meditate for 10 minutes each day. Meditation is a wonderful stress reducer, and has been shown to reduce anxiety levels in as quickly as just three short weeks. The best part about meditation? It’s free and can be done anywhere! All you need is some quiet time (even if it’s only ten minutes) and a comfortable position.

6. Spend time with loved ones

Secret Six: Spend time with loved ones; don’t isolate yourself from others when you’re feeling stressed. Often, when we’re stressed, we avoid those who love us, but being around those who care about us lowers our stress levels greatly. Also, knowing that one is not alone in feeling stressed is comforting.

7. Get rid of any clutter around the house, including old clothes, shoes, and books

Secret Seven: Get rid of any clutter around the house, including old clothes, shoes, and books. When you have too much stuff cluttering up your space in general, it can increase your stress levels since there’s more to do! Maintaining a clean environment can also be overwhelming when you have a lot of clutter.
